Donate

Donations are accepted only during our open hours, Tuesday afternoons preferred. For large quantities, please email us first. Off-hours donations, clothing, other textiles, and shoes can be placed in the Epilepsy Foundation New England collection bin by our entrance.

Volunteer

The WCE is volunteer-run. Volunteers price, tag, shelve, and evaluate incoming items. They track sales so we can pay consigners. At season’s end, they bag and box the unsold items for pickup by charities. They like to socialize.

If interested in volunteering, whether just for a Saturday opening or on a trial basis, WalthamClothingExchange@gmail.com.

Serving the Community

The WCE provides a low-cost source for gently used clothing and household items for people trying to make their dollars go further. About 100 to 150 customers visit the Exchange each Tuesday and we have about 80 consignors. Some of our customers buy items to send to family in their home countries. We support the environment by giving a second chance to items otherwise bound for the landfill.

We provide winter gear to several local organizations. Leftover housewares go to Welcome Home in Newton. The Epilepsy Foundation New England Donation Center pays us a modest amount for the donation bin and unsold clothing at the end of the season. The rest is given to Goodwill and to <a “https://shop.mtwyouth.org/”>More Than Words.

We raise over $4500 a year for the First Parish budget and special building needs.
